How does the American schooling system work? - how does metforminwork in our body

I live in Northern Ireland and here we have only seven years of primary school, five years after high school and 2 years of the sixth grade, which is optional. How can we in the United States that always confuses me, is like doing in school and what next? And to what age to go to school and leave and have no primary schools? Confusion!

  1. We have 13 years of compulsory education. It begins with kindergarten, 5-6 years of elementary school, middle school and 2-3 years after 4 years of high school.

Therefore, it could happen to a community college, vocational program or a degree, but not mandatory. Then came graduate studies, including master's and doctoral degree programs degrees.

  3. Who says so?

    Whatever ..
    Typical American:
    From 5 years in kindergarten.
Ages 6 - Top of the 1st Class - progessing to the 6th Class. (Elementary School)
12 - Top Class 7 - Class 8 (Middle School, some schools starting this year in the 6.).
14 - High School Year (Grade 9) by Sophomore (10.), Junior (11.) and finally graduated (12. Senior).
If you go to college and university
18 - Freshman (yet), second, third, 1 Senior Year (if in 5 years Prorgram) Senior 2nd Year.
You can with a university degree Associate degree (2 years)
Graduated with Bachelor (4 years degree)
    Master's or doctorate would continue.

    Hope this helps

  4. In principle, such as Ireland, the only problem is that we call by different names, and separated into different shapes. The elementary school is kindergarten through the 5th Class (each year is to start a school) at the primary school at age 4 to 5 and 11 years. Then by mid-principals, for three years (6 to Grade 8, age 11-14) and after the middle class, which is also known as a secondary address of the school, is here in the 9th Class at the age of 12 years (14-18).

Then, after you go to college.

    Hope this helps:)

  6. Public school begins with kindergarten (5 years) and in high school (grades 9-12). Primary School (primary school) is 1-5 or 1-6 of the School, Middle School 6-8 in general. Some systems have jr. High 8 and 9
After high school, and JR. the high school. Most are about 18 students when the high school from.
So we have 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. years, has been unequally distributed, with different names.
